Shh…
My message for you this week is all about getting quiet.
“The quieter you become the more you can hear”
This has been on the home screen of my phone for a few months now.
When I initially put it there I had the idea that it would inspire me to spend more time sitting in meditation.
That didn’t really happen.
What did happen.. was I got quieter in life.
This looked like a little less overall “noise” in my outer world so I could tune into my inner world.
And I started to pay more attention to my thoughts and what I was telling myself and believing to be true.
A lot came up.. a LOT.
One thing I found: I was telling myself to lose weight I had to be a runner.
Which right now I cannot run, due to an ankle injury.
This thought pattern (that played on repeat) kept me feeling stuck with unwanted weight and not feeling amazing.
But is it ultimately true that the only way to lose weight is to be a runner?
Absolutely not!
There are so many ways.
But I didn’t understand that, that was the thought/belief that was holding me back!
Like, light bulb moment!💡💡
So now I’m choosing to believe that there are tons of possibilities and ways to lose excess weight that isn’t serving me!
And my choice is to begin rowing a few days a week, get really really sweaty and be more aware of how I’m fueling my body.
So on this beautiful Monday, I want to challenge you to get quiet.
Cut out some noise, and see if you hear something that you didn’t know was playing in the background.
Then ask: “is this ultimately true?”
Then decide if it’s true, if you want it to be true, and what you’d like to be true instead.
And replace the old soundtrack with your new true tune 🎶
And let out a sigh of relief because you can actually tell yourself anything you want- so it might as well feel good!
